To,
The Editor,

Assam.
Dear Sir,
I would like to comment on the statement by Ms. Anjali Daimary, Leader of Bodo Women’s Justice Forum at the presence of different media on 1/12/2007.
How could she say that the Adivasis of Assam don’t deserve to fight for Schedule Tribe (ST) status in Assam? She is not clear to justify her statement.
She says demanding ST status means a Society / Culture is behind by 50 years, and then yes, the Adivisis are being neglected and are deprived of their Social Security and Social Justice provided by the Constitution of India under Part IV of the Directive Principal of State Policy, Article 38. The 24th November 2007 incident, brutal killing and inhuman torture of the innocent Adivasis is the raw evidence of the fact.
With due respect to the sentiments of our Bodo population, if Ms. Anjali Daimary is not satisfied with the services provided by the Govt. of Assam to the ST Bodos, then she should place her graveness with the Govt. The Adavisis in Assam will definitely give moral support in this matter. But this is not the platform to justify her statement that Adivasis of Assam don’t deserve to fight for Schedule Tribe (ST) status in Assam.
Now that it has been proved that The National Students Union of India (NSUI) is behind the brutal killing and inhuman torture of the innocent Abivisis in the 24th November 2007 rally. Then her statement of blaming the innocent Adivisis for igniting the fire of Bloody Violence is null and void.
The Adivasis are with the opinion that Bodos are not in favour of the Scheduling of the Adivasis in Assam, because Bodos fear the consequences of loosing their identity in Assam.
With warm regards,
Probin John Topno,
Concerned Citizen of India.
