In his statment he draw the attention of United Nations for Indigenous Adivasis of Assam who were treated as lesser citizens by not granting the scheduling in schedule Tribe (ST) list though their counterparts in other states enjoy the benefites of being Scheduled. The Government has violated our human rights by giving us with insulting names such as Tea Tribe, labour, mazdoor etc and reccommending the same Tea Community name which the Indigenous people does not accept it.
Moreover in the Tea Industry the workers treated as slaves as suppression and oppression still continue with no basic facilities to the workers. More than 1000 workers die every year due to unhygienic living condition in the the labour quarters still the government and Tea management has no concern.employ of child labour with minimum of daily wages, supply of malnutrited rations, no drinking water facilities , no educational facilities to the children are gross violiations to human rights of the Tea Garden people.
In his statement he also welcomed and thanked the Government for the inclusion of two Indigenous languages namely Santali and Bodo in the 8th constitution of India and urged to include other indigenous languages like Kurukh(oraon), Mundari,Kharia, Ho etc in the 8th schedule of the constitution of India.

Comments
To all who are concerned about the welfare of Adivasi Community in Assam.
I would like to apprecitate the efforts of my brethren in Assam who are making every effort to bring to light the plight of the Adivasis in Assam. I sincerely believe that the blood of our brothers and sisters will not go in vain. I was deeply moved by the incident which took place in Guwahati on 24th November 2007. My only prayer is that the culprits be booked and justice be done.
with deep sentiments,
